Pre-Sale & Pre-Order Information

The most anticipated releases in the hobby often sell out before they even hit the shelves. At Trading Card Academy, our Pre-Sale program allows you to reserve your factory-sealed hobby boxes and cases ahead of the official release date. We operate with a “First-In, First-Out” policy to ensure fairness and transparency for every collector.

1. How Pre-Sales Work

When you purchase a Pre-Sale item, you are securing a guaranteed allocation from our confirmed distributor shipments.

  • Payment: Payment is collected in full at the time of checkout to lock in your price and reservation. This protects you from market price spikes that often occur on release day.

  • Confirmed Allocations: We only list Pre-Sale quantities that have been officially confirmed by our distributors. This significantly reduces the risk of “order cuts” or cancellations.

2. Shipping & Release Dates

  • Launch Day Dispatch: We aim to ship all Pre-Order items on the Official Manufacturer Release Date.

  • Transit Times: Once dispatched from our Hoboken vault, your order follows our standard Free Shipping timeline (5–7 business days), unless you selected an expedited method at checkout.

  • Release Delays: Occasionally, manufacturers or distributors may delay a release date. If this happens, we will notify you immediately via email with the updated shipping timeline.

3. Combined Orders

To ensure your items reach you as safely as possible, please note:

  • Ship-Together Policy: If your order contains both “In-Stock” items and “Pre-Sale” items, the entire order will ship together once the final Pre-Sale item is released.

  • Pro Tip: If you want your in-stock items delivered immediately, we recommend placing two separate orders.

4. Price Protection Guarantee

The collectibles market is volatile. By participating in a Pre-Sale with Trading Card Academy, you are protected:

  • Market Spikes: If the market value of the box increases between your purchase and the release date, your price remains locked. You will never be charged more.

  • Price Drops: In the rare event that our own retail price for the item drops before the release date, contact us and we will credit you the difference as a gesture of goodwill.

5. Cancellations & Modifications

  • Cancellations: You may cancel a Pre-Order for a full refund at any time up to 48 hours before the official release date.

  • Processing Period: Once we begin the labeling and “Vault-to-Door” packing process (usually 48 hours before launch), cancellations can no longer be processed, and the order will fall under our standard 30-Day Return Policy.
