Safety & Authenticity Notices
At Trading Card Academy, we deal in high-value, factory-sealed collectibles. Because the hobby involves significant financial investment and physical products, we have established these safety notices to protect our customers, their data, and the physical safety of the community.
1. Product Safety & Age Requirements
Most trading card products and hobby boxes are designed for collectors and are typically intended for ages 13 and older.
Choking Hazard: Sealed packs and boxes may contain small parts, plastic wrap, or silica gel packets that are not toys. Please keep packaging materials out of reach of small children and pets.
Edges: While we source only the highest quality items, card stock and plastic packaging can sometimes have sharp edges. Handle all unboxings with care.
2. Authenticity & Tamper Prevention
The safety of your investment is our primary concern. To ensure you are receiving a genuine, untampered product:
Verify the Seal: Upon arrival, inspect the factory shrink-wrap. Most major manufacturers (Pokémon, Panini, Topps) use branded shrink-wrap with visible logos.
Report Anomalies: If a seal appears re-glued, taped, or double-wrapped, do not open the product. Contact our Hoboken vault immediately at +1 (513) 715-1007. Opening a tampered product voids our Return Policy protections.
3. Transaction & Data Security
To ensure your financial safety while shopping at tradingcardacademy.shop:
Encryption: Our Site uses 256-bit SSL encryption to protect your personal and payment information during checkout.
Official Communication: We will only ever contact you regarding your order from an @tradingcardacademy.shop email address. We will never ask for your full credit card number or password over the phone or via email.
Secure Payments: We partner with industry-leading payment processors to ensure your data is handled according to PCI-DSS standards.
4. Safe Handling of High-Value Assets
Once you have pulled a high-value card (“hit”), its safety is in your hands. We recommend the following for any elite pulls:
Sleeving: Use acid-free, PVC-free “penny sleeves” and rigid top-loaders immediately to prevent surface scratches or corner wear.
Storage: Store your collection in a cool, dry, and dark environment. High humidity or direct sunlight can cause card warping (“foil curling”) and ink fading over time.
5. Fraud & Market Safety
Price Gouging: We monitor market trends to provide fair, competitive pricing. Be wary of “too good to be true” offers from unverified sources on social media—they are often used for phishing or selling counterfeit goods.
Identity Protection: For very high-value orders, our Hoboken team may reach out to verify the cardholder’s identity. This is a safety measure to prevent unauthorized use of your credit card.
